Campanula takesimana features arched stems of glossy foliage, topped with large pendant, bell-shaped flowers. The pink flushed flowers have a hidden surprise – lining each flower are deep maroon freckles. This Korean Bellflower is a hardy perennial, very fast growing; it will quickly form large clumps in borders. Preferring a lightly shaded spot, it ideal for planting near trees and shrubs, where it will cheer up the darker corners of your garden borders. Plant Campanula in a fertile, moist, well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.
Feed and water plants regularly until they are fully established. Cut back faded flower stems to encourage a send flush to be produced. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant in autumn or spring.
